Jason Horst | INCBA President

Jason Horst is the current President of the INCBA and Managing Partner of Horst Legal Counsel. Jason represents businesses, public entities, professional and nonprofit organizations, and individuals in complex civil litigation and appellate cases involving a wide variety of cannabis, real estate, contract, insurance coverage, and technology disputes. Jason has been recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers® Magazine and been named as one of MG Magazine’s 30 Powerful Cannabis Attorneys You Should Know.

Why Join the Board of Directors

Serving on the INCBA Board of Directors has been among the most rewarding experiences of my career. Serving on the Board has not only afforded me the opportunity to meet many of the most impressive and influential leaders serving the legal cannabis industry, but also to build relationships with them. At least equally significant, my work with the Board has allowed me to make a mark on an organization that has helped me and hundreds of other attorneys navigate the nuanced and ever-changing world of cannabis law for nearly a decade.

Minimum Qualifications for Nomination

To be nominated as a candidate for the INCBA Board of Directors, nominees must meet ALL of the qualifications listed below. (Please read carefully.)

  • Nominee is either a lawyer, retired lawyer, or judge.

  • Nominee has been an active attorney member of INCBA for 1 full year (joined on or before June 30, 2023).

  • Nominee has participated in an educational or networking event in the past year.

  • Nominee has been nominated by a current member of the association that does not share an employer with you (not from the same firm or company).

We recommend you examine the following factors in determining who wins each of your votes:

  • Professionalism in the Legal and Cannabis Industries

  • Respect of colleagues and clients

  • Ability to drive special projects through substantive expertise, unique relationships, or other professional attributes.

  • Ability to garner financial support for the association to facilitate growth.

  • Overall reputation in the cannabis, legal, or other industries.
